Frankel’s life turned a corner in 2005, when she participated in the reality TV show, The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, and was one of the two finalists.

This gained her some popularity and fame, which led her to being cast on Bravo’s hit TV show, The Real Housewives of New York City in 2008. Frankel put her mind into business opportunities and came up with the encouraging and uplifting concept, SkinnyGirl.

Bethenny Frankel’s ex-husband, Jason Hoppy is also well known because of his time on her show, not to mention their wedding being so public, as it was filmed for the world to witness on Bethenny Getting Married?

The businessman was born on September 10, 1970 in NYC, which makes Jason Hoppy’s age 47. He was in pharmaceutical sales and a real estate agent. But Hoppy’s bank account saw an increase when he starred in Bethenny Getting Married?, and was later known as Bethenny Frankel’s husband.

Wedding Bells Ringing in “Reality?”

Frankel became a household name, and she knew how to cash in on that. While on Bravo’s Bethenny Getting Married?, the network documented the events leading up to Frankel and Hoppy’s big day, and all the drama that came with it. According to Frankel, Hoppy was so proper all the time and the two were so different. At the time, it could have been seen as an “opposites attract” type of thing.

She also mentioned in episode one that “moving in with him was a big adjustment due to their differences.” But before we knew it, Frankel was seven months pregnant and planning their wedding! With no plans, she hired wedding planner, Shawn Rabideau. It turned into a complete headache for Rabideau, as Frankel demanded to oversee every single detail.

Despite all the drama, Frankel had a beautiful ceremony at the L.A. Parker Meridian Hotel in NYC. Shortly after the wedding, Frankel and Hoppy became proud parents to a baby girl they named Bryn Hoppy.

The End of a New Beginning

Hoppy wasn’t actually Frankel’s first marriage! She was married to an executive TV producer in 1996, but ended things in 1997. Jason Hoppy is her second husband and the father of Bethenny Frankel’s daughter, Bryn. Even though their wedding was beautiful and watched by millions, their relationship ended in an ugly divorce.

In 2012, the two separated and she filed divorce papers. After years of making tough choices of property divisions and settlements, Frankel’s divorce was finalized in 2016.

The Divorce Aftermath

As if it dealing with heartbreak, a baby girl, and her growing businesses wasn’t enough for Frankel, she now faced something new. Something bad. She was back in the news for her allegations against Hoppy. According to reports, Hoppy (who originally seemed happy with putting the drama and their marriage behind them) was not going down without a fight. He was arrested on stalking and harrassment charges after he showed up to Bryn’s school and allegedly threatened Frankel. She has since filed a restraining order against him.

In December of 2017, Frankel filed a suit against Hoppy seeking full custody of their daughter. The case is still pending and the current custody agreement seems to be adhered to.

Since her divorce, Frankel ventured out into the world of dating on a few occasions. Most recently, she was dating Dennis Shields, a longtime friend and financier. Shield’s company, LawCash, helps finance law suits against the City of New York.

The two began dating in early 2016, broke up in May 2017, began dating again in August 2017, but apparently broke up sometime late in 2017 or early 2018. Frankel told Us Weekly that she was single in an article posted on January 10, 2018. But, the two were seen poolside just a short time ago.
